NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City of West Kelowna, 2760 Cameron Road, West Kelowna, BC to consider:

“OFFICIAL COMMUNITY PLAN AMENDMENT BYLAW NO. 100.45”

Location:                  4058, 4066, 4082 Gellatly Road and two additional unaddressed properties on Gellatly Road   

Legal Description:   DL 3999, ODYD; Lot A, DL 487, ODYD, Pl. 6926; Lot 1, DL 487, ODYD, Pl. KAP58591; Lot 3, DL 487, ODYD, Pl. 316, Except Plan 17635; and Lot A, DL 487, ODYD, Pl. 12966

File No:                     OCP 17-02

Purpose:                 To amend OCP Bylaw No. 0100 to include a new Growth Management Designation specifically for portions of the parcels noted above to outline the vision for the future development of Gellatly Bay as a lower density mixed-use village comprised of small-scale commercial uses (cafes, boutique shops and local services operated year-round), small-scale multi-residential uses (apartments and townhouses) geared towards year-round residents, public parking (vehicular and boat/trailer) and public spaces (promenades and plazas).

Please note that this file previously went through the public hearing process in May but changes to the bylaw have prompted a second public hearing.  Copies of the bylaw and related materials (including a red-lined version highlighting the proposed changes) may be reviewed at Municipal Hall, 8:30 to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays, up to and including August 22, 2017.

HOW TO MAKE A SUBMISSION 

All persons who believe their interest in property is affected by this proposal may speak at the public hearing or provide a written submission for Council’s consideration.  Written submissions may be delivered in person at Municipal Hall, or sent by mail, email, or fax per the contact information given with this notice.  All submissions must be made Attn:  City Clerk and received by 4 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017. 

Submissions should reference the bylaw number in the subject line and include your name and the civic address or legal description of the land affected by the proposal.  Please be advised that all submissions, including the names of authors will become part of the public record.  The author’s phone number and email address are not relevant and should not be included in the correspondence if the writer does not wish his or her personal information disclosed. 

Any written submission received after the 4 p.m. deadline on August 21 will not be circulated to Council; however, submissions received after 4 p.m. will be available for viewing in the Public Hearing binder.

Please Note that Council cannot receive submissions after the conclusion of the Public Hearing.
