Our Police Force and Civilian Staff

West Kelowna's municipal policing force consists of 21 members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police who work out of the West Kelowna RCMP Detachment at 2390 Dobbin Road.

The City of West Kelowna employs several support staff to assist the RCMP with duties including reception, administration, fingerprinting, etc.

In addition to these support staff, a team of volunteers assists the municipal force, running community policing programs such as Citizens Patrol and Speed Watch. West Kelowna RCMP is also a partner in Crime Stoppers.

West Kelowna RCMP Detatchment Areas

An additional 25 provincial RCMP officers are based out of the West Kelowna RCMP Detachment. These officers police: 

  • Central Okanagan West Electoral Area
  • Highway 97C / Okanagan Connector to Sunset Main
  • Okanagan Lake from Peachland to Lake Okanagan Resort
  • Peachland
  • Rural areas on the east side of Okanagan Lake including
    • Big White
    • Ellison
    • Joe Rich
Three of the 25 officers are dedicated to First Nations policing.

Working Together

West Kelowna's RCMP officers and the 25 provincial RCMP officers work closely together to ensure all policing calls are addressed in a timely, professional and seamless manner.
