Affordable Housing

Community Accommodation

Council received the Affordable Housing Strategy in 2010.

The document and Council's feedback have been incorporated into the development of the Official Community Plan, which was adopted the following year, in July 2011. Affordable housing is referred to on Page 122 in Section 3.8.3:

What is Affordable Housing

Affordable housing provides safe and financially accessible residences for people of various demographics in a community.

Any successful strategy on affordable housing demands a critical understanding of the context of the level of housing affordability in the community.
